Bert Menco (Arnhem, The Netherlands, 1946) works in intaglio, drawing and painting. His numerous solo and group shows include ones in about 15 other countries and his work is represented in over 100 public and private collections, including those of the Rotterdam Museum (The Netherlands) and the Illinois State Museum (US). His work was featured in The Best of Printmaking, An International Collection (Rockport Publishers, Gloucester, MA, 1997). He won several awards, e.g., a Sponsors prize at the 3rd Sapporo Internatio Read Morenal Print Biennale (1996, Japan) and a third prize at Imprima 2012 (Sobral, Brazil, 2012). He participated in artist residencies at Ragdale (Lake Forest, IL, USA, 2008) and the Guanlan Printmaking Base (Shenzhen, China, 2011). Bert, though Dutch, resides in the US since 1982 where he worked as a Research Professor at Northwestern University until 2006.
