Biography:

Heli Kurunsaari is Finnish visual artist using reduction woodcut as her medium. She is born 1971 in Lapua, Finland. She lives and works in Helsinki. Kurunsaari graduated from Fine Art Institute of Lahti in 1996 and from Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2013. She has had several solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Her works are included in essential collections in Finland. Heli Kurunsaari´s artworks are colored woodcuts, but they contain many elements of a monotype. Theme of her art is individual´s rela Read Moretionship with its environment and history. Her work has been shown internationally in such exhibitions as Ulsan international Woodcut Biennale in South Korea 2019 and 2017, Century of the Woodcut Print in Finland, Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Eisentrager / Howard Gallery, Lincoln in Nebraska USA, Finnish Institute in Madrid and 4th Print triennial Kochi in Japan.
