Biography:

Butler works exclusively on paper in both watercolor and lithography, dwelling predominately in the narrative, figurative realm. Her work has been in more than one hundred national and international exhibitions in which she received over twenty awards. Her work is represented in over thirty public museum and university collections including the Art Institute of Chicago (Joan Flasch Collection), Banff Center for Arts and Creativity, Baylor University, Brooklyn Museum, Library of Congress, Museum of Modern Art (NY), Nat Read Moreional Museum of Women in the Arts, New York Public Library, Northwestern University, Smithsonian American Art/National Portrait Gallery, University of New Mexico Art Museum, University of Washington, University of Wisconsin, Victoria & Albert Museum, Walker Art Center, Wichita Art Museum, and Yale University
