Liz Ingram was born in Argentina and grew up in New Delhi, Mumbai and Toronto. For forty one years she taught at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, and is currently Distinguished University Professor Emerita. Her artworks have been exhibited in over 300 group exhibitions in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. She has received awards for her prints at juried exhibitions in Canada, Slovenia, Poland, Korea, Brazil, Estonia, India and Finland. Recent exhibitions include: Touchin Read Moreg Gravity, Ace AIR Gallery, Buenos Aires, Argentina, (solo) 2018; Water/Bodies, FAB Gallery, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (solo), 2017; INTER•WOVEN / New Canadian Perspectives on Textile and Printmaking, Kobro Gallery, Lodz, and Gallery Lowicka, Warsaw, Poland, 2017; Liz Ingram: Site Collaborations, Anna Leonowens Gallery, Halifax, Nova Scotia, (solo) 2017; Liz Ingram: Print Encounters 1984 - 2014, Prince Takamado Gallery, Embassy of Canada, Tokyo (solo). Honours include: Induction into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, 1998; the University of Alberta J. Gordin Kaplan Award for Research Excellence, 2008; the City of Edmonton Hall of Fame, 2008; the Royal Society of Canada, 2009; the University Cup (the University’s highest academic honour), 2011; and in 2017 she received the Order of Canada.
