Mauricio Herrero

Costa Rica

Mauricio Herrero (1981) is a Costa Rican visual artist. He obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Parsons The New School for Design, NY, NY. He also holds a Licentiate and Bachelor in Fine Arts with Emphasis in Printmaking from the University of Costa Rica. Currently he is pursuing a Master in Visual Arts and Education in the University of Barcelona (2017). He has shown his work in New York in places such as Art Currents Institute, The Kitchen, The Drawing Center’s Viewing Program, The Art Director’s Club, Proje Read Morect Paz and Times Square Gallery, among others. Other international shows include Bienal La Joven Estampa 2007 and 2009 in Havana Cuba, Festival Ingrafica in Cuenca, Spain and the San Carlos Academy (UNAM) in Mexico City. In Costa Rica he won the First Place Student Award in the Visual Arts Contest in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Agreement between The University of Costa Rica and the University of Kansas.
