Biography:

Michèle Baczynsky was born in Brussels in 1960. She resides in Brussels. She started her artistic career in 1989 as a singer with the Trio Mosaïc (CD released by SubRosa), then created a band: Talita Koumi (CD released by Syncoop Produkties ; concert at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, as well as numerous festivals in Belgium and abroad) . Michèle Baczynsky also wrote and publish short fictions illustrated by her own linocuts. She also wrote « Les enfants de la Red Star Line », in collaboration with th Read Moree Red Star Line museum, in Antwerp, which will be released by the Editions Renaissance du Livre in 2017. In 2004, she discovered engraving. In 2010, the Maison de la Culture Yiddish, in Paris, invited her to display her linocut works : Le Roi Chat-lomon, 10 ans de linogravures. Since then, she display her work on a regular basis, either on her own, or in art exhibitions : Parcours d’artistes, Saint Gilles (Brussels) 2015,2016. Permanent exhibition of her works in the gallery LESARTS, in Brussels. 3rd GLOBAL PRINT 2017/9TH DOURO BIENNAL 2018 (Portugal)
