Karen Dugas studied at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and the University of Alberta where she received her MVA in printmaking in 1982. She has taught at the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta (1982-90). She has exhibited in most of the major print biennials and has received 10 awards including the Prize by the Jury in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia in 1985. She has had several shows abroad including “Beyond Printmaking : Images in Objects”, Galleria U Jezuitow, Poznan, Poland in 2009. H Read Moreer monumental digital work has been shown “Renaissance”, Enterprise Square in 2010, the Multicultural Centre Public Art Gallery in Stony Plain in 2012, “The New World” MODEM Debrecen, Hungary, 2013, “SIZE MATTERS : BIG PRINTS” Enterprise Square, 2013 and “resonance - Canadian Printmaking Exhibition, SZ Space, Beijing, China in 2015. In March of 2010 she undertook a one month residency at the Guanlan Original Print Base, Shenzhen, China.
