Born in Brussels in 1946 Jan Wellens skills became well-known: drawings, paintings, graphic works. As printmaker he makes etchings, lithographs and nowadays mainly linocuts. He studied at the St.-Lucas institute in Brussels and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. He exposed all over the world: Belgium, Germany, France, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Spain, Serbia, Romania, Japan … His movement through the lino is self-confident and angular, without frills.
